For Ben and Lisa's wedding (sensing a theme on these entries?), my parents' house was the staging area for the bridal party and my condo was the staging area for the groom's party. My parents generally keep their place spiffy regardless of what's up. I, on the other hand, do not. Its not on purpose. Its just that cleaning takes effort and I generally choose to expend mine on something else. Like television or mercenary spelunking.
In addition to an hours long cleaning session, begging awesome not-a-boyfriend Justin to help my clear out my garage for cars and spot checking the house for things that weren't working; I also decided I wanted to hook my computer up to the big screen TV in the living room to bestow the glorious benefit of HD-YouTube on my guests.
Being not particularly technically inclined (something I may have already mentioned), I found myself up against a familiar wall. I knew it could be done, but I had no idea how to do it. As is the case when you connect most things to other things, I assumed it had something to do with cables. Good, step one is taken care of. My initial assumption that it was the three headed dragon-monster cable with the red, yellow, and white extensions all on one cord... that was proven wrong.
Pressed for time, I took a leap and bought the HD cable that the guy at ABC Warehouse said would do the trick. What? He looked legit. The point is - it worked, a house full of boys with pre-wedding jitters got to have big screen internet and I felt like the lady version of a stud. It was a good day. Not nearly as awesome as tomorrow, but then, how often do two of your best friends get married?
